Research in the Williard Lab at the University of North Carolina Wilmington revolves around the central question of how marine reptiles function in their environment. We use a combination of field-based and laboratory-based approaches to investigate physiological and behavioral responses of marine reptiles to alterations in temperature and salinity. We value the role that objective scientific research plays in the conservation of threatened and endangered species, and work with collaborators in government, academia, and non-profit organizations to promote sound management strategies based on the best available data.
